Career Bliss Thursday: Defining Your Ideal Day

[hr toptext=”” size=”superTiny” custom_size=”” hide_mobile_hr=”false”]

One of the things that I love to do as a Pisces is to dream! And I like to Dream Big!

I would say that is one of the main reasons I am here today.

But, although dreaming is inspiring, energizing and full of hope… we all know that hope is not a strategy.

So, when I started my journey I had lots to figure out and learn. And the very first step I took was getting very clear on what it was I wanted out of life. I had to take a big inventory of what I wanted in my life and out of my life. Really look at what were the things that were serving me and what wasn’t working for me.  And one of my biggest realizations was that I had to look at life as a whole!

Often we get into this train of thought where we define ourselves by what we do from 9 to 5 – Monday to Friday. BIG mistake! That is not what defines you!

So, here is what I want you to do:

I want you to get very clear and specific in what it is you want your WHOLE life to look like. What does your Ideal Day look like?

Defining Your Ideal Day

Go ahead and grab a piece of paper and map out all the details of what you would love your day to be like. At what time do you get up in the morning? Where do you live? What do you eat for breakfast? Give me the details and really savor all of it… picture the really yummy nutritious food; really experience the flavors bursting in your tongue.  Get in the moment!  [image url=”×300.jpg” alignment=”right” margin_left=”8″ margin_right=”8″ margin_top=”8″ margin_bottom=”8″ width=”300″ height=”300″]

Then, what do you do next? Where do you work? Is it in an office? What does the office look like? Do you have a window? Picture what you would be overlooking through that window. Or do work outdoors? Picture yourself in the environment and really see what that would look like for you. How does that make you feel? Do you have a set schedule for the day or does your day flow?

You get the point. And the more detailed you get, the better the picture you will put together in your mind.  You will be amazed at what comes up for you! This exercise alone was a life altering moment for me.

As you can tell, I’m a very visual person, so I didn’t write it out but I clipped pictures from magazines and drew out EVERYTHING I wanted in my life and exactly how I wanted my day to look like.

It has made all the difference because I am now crystal clear on what to say yes to and what to stay away from. Very empowering exercise!

So, my love… comment below: What does your ideal day look like? Can’t wait to hear from you!
